SUMMER/ FALL / WINTER BASEBALL
off season
ABF Team vs. High School Team
Agoura Baseball Foundation (ABF) runs a club team for Agoura High School players during Summer, Fall and Winter (June to February).
The official high school baseball season takes place during the Spring semester (mid February to May) and is governed by CIF rules. Since the school district provides virtually no financial support for the baseball program, Agoura Baseball Foundation (a 501c3 non-profit corporation) exists to raise and distribute funds to support the baseball program year-round.
In addition to fundraising efforts, families are expected to pay dues to fund the baseball experience and opportunities for the players. The fees cover coaches’ stipends, baseballs, umpire fees, equipment and maintenance and upkeep of our Agoura Baseball facility. ABF operates two baseball fields, and the entire baseball facility (4 bullpens, 3 batting cages, 3 locker rooms, 2 scoreboards, 2 snack shacks).
Summer League (June-July)
Coach Chev runs and operates a two week Summer Camp for incoming freshman in June. While this is not required, it is recommended as this is how the coaches make selections for the ABF Summer League Teams. This camp is not affiliated with ABF.
The ABF Summer League consists of three teams (Frosh, JV & Varsity) which will be selected by the coaches after Chev’s Camp. ABF Summer League is 5 weeks (late June to July) and includes ~10 games (no practices) against other local club teams. Note that playing on the Summer team is not a guarantee players will be asked to enroll in Fall Baseball.
- Practices – none
- Games – about 10 weekday games from late June to July, game times are late afternoon
- Transportation – Players must arrange for their own transportation to/from games
- Dues – Yes
Fall/Winter Season (August-February)
Players should register for Fall Baseball as a class during first semester (if not playing another Fall sport). During these months, ABF runs a Fall/Winter League which consists of practices Monday through Friday (holidays excluded), and games typically on Saturdays (with the occasional weekday). There is a monthly due associated with the Fall/Winter Season (automated payments are available). There will be a Welcome Picnic for all baseball families at the beginning of the school year.
- Practices – Monday to Friday, weather permitting
- Games – Games are played on most Saturdays and occasional weekdays
- Transportation – Players must arrange for their own transportation to/from games
- Dues – Yes, monthly due
